Prewar Colson

I'm really digging the colson frames and I found this one but the price seems a little high to me. It's has a snap tank. I don't know if all the parts are original to the bike. I just want to make sure before I shell out that kind of money.

What's the asking price? Those tanks go for $200-250 all day long. I believe it's a 38-39 or so. Not sure. Chainguard looks a bit earlier tho.

Yeah he's asking $550 for the bike as a whole minus the chainguard. but I'm just wondering how much more I'd have to put into it and if it'd be worth it. is that how much you guys are spending on fixing up these bikes?

I think thats a bit high without the chainguard.

price seems high w/o chainguard. the tank is an obvious bonus but otherwise that's a pretty basic bike, no fender light, no chrome left, no dropstand..

I agree, and like I said before, I don't think it's the correct one anyway. Unless I'm wrong, I've only seen those on 35-37 Colsons. It's the same one I have on my '36 Packard. That should have a guard like this:
