i found this at a local garage sale. it looks like a 1930's westfield built bike, like an elgin blackhawk.(thanks to a few members of the cabe for their info). if anyone can help with any info, i would appreciate it. i gave it a 20 min tune up and took it for a spin. not easy to get it moving, but really cruises when up to speed. there is a pretty bad weld job on the seat stay i need to have repaired, but should be a fun project.

thanks for all the compliments. skoda, the links were very helpful. it looks like a 1935ish westfield built, maybe a rugby model.
yes, it's supposed to be militia, i spelled my own name wrong, i guess i am slow. i'd never heard of bfd, but have had several bouts with it.
here it is after a quick tune up. i had to flip the seat to make it more comfortable. tightened all of the bolts up, and filled the tires. brushed some of the flaking rust off. i've been all over the neighborhood on it, and am still surprised how smooth it is.
