Prewar Schwinn / Felt 1909. Rob Peter to pay Paul

So I picked up this 39 Schwinn Mead 20 inch frame fork combo. Was thinking of building it with new running gear and a little wider wheels. So I walk out to garage and see the Felt 1909 I picked up off Craigslist a while ago and realize it has the wheels and tires I want. And seat. And bars. And grips. And bottom braket. And chain ring. You get what I'm saying here. So this is where I'm at so far with the small build.

The Mead also came with a 41 dated bottom bracket that is super nice! The Felt bars are HUGE!!! 34 inches wide! Trying to find a stem that fits so it held up at the moment.

What's your plans for the Felt? the new 1909 looks rather lovely so I wonder what your vision is for the rebuild also!

Think I located a decent prewar stem that I can pick up today. Just a little trade, no money out of pocket. Maybe get this buttoned up for a ride by evening. Depending on kids activities tonight that is. Lol

I like the Felt and like how it rides. It's nice to know I can always toss it back together. The only casualty so far was taking a few links out of the chain (which I kept). If I really really enjoy the Mead after I finish I will sell off the Felt Carcass. Felt is dime a dozen compared to a 20 inch OG paint tall frame. Can always buy another Felt easily. Also my buddy I bought the Mead from still has the Original hanging tank to this frame that he kept. I may be able to pick it up from him down the rode. Not sure if it's worth throwing another $500 at the bike though.
