I usually complain about there being no good bikes around here. I probably shouldn't complain about this one. Had to drive 4 hours round trip on Saturday to get this, but well worth it. Pic heavy, sorry I forgot my camera was on the highest res setting for my photo contest entry.

Your bike has an American Flyer badge. It was sold by Louisville Cycle Supply in KY. Large distributorship owned by the Lipski family. Their badges were American Flyer and Speedway. I think that headlight is a silver ray. Worth $$$. Miller kickstand which might not be original to this bike. It probably came with a drop stand. The crank is a post war. Should have a dog leg crank. Cool old bike. I have 2 Speedways. Gary

Great info. I have a 55 Spitfire with the American Flyer badge. It became my BO-X bike. These pop up quite a bit around here, it seems.
The light is very cool, if I can't find a lens, I might try to make one.
As for the kickstand, I'll have to keep it. I don't see where the drop stand would have attached, and the bottom of both fenders are missing, so I don't know if it had a clip on it. I may try to reshape the fenders to look a little better.
Lucky for me, I bought a dogleg crank a while back for another bike I have. It turned out to be for a Schwinn, so I didn't use it. It is marked H502 with no other markings. I have tried to sell it a few times, luckily no one bought it.
Overall, I'm pretty excited. I keep saying I'm not a Schwinn guy, but I have three now. This one just needs a cleaning, greasing, and the front wheel needs trued up. And the LH pedal is bent really badly. Pretty close to being a rider.

I would. have to make room for that bike. As of now I have a 36-37-39..my fenders are not that bad.and only the 37 has the original crank and rack.have all but given up on trying to find prewar rack so for now am running postwar top and prewar legs have a parts silverray but it is the auto version.if u part would like to buy rack.also have pair of Nos s-2 to consider trade bait

Yeah, it's like you said. I'm gonna make room for this one. I do need to sell some other bikes. There is no more room at the inn.
