Here is my first "build" post... I hope it all works! It all started when I went to pick up a 64/5 Spaceliner I found on Craigslist and the guy offered me this


The seat tube was bent and the welds broken. I decided to cut it low and replace it with a new post, but first it needed a little character...



Then I put a couple tack welds on the cross brace between the top tunes and down by the bottom bracket...

I wanted to use a 26" front 24" rear setup but the tire I got was too fat... Surprise surprise! Nothing the Jaws of Life couldn't fix!




I really like the look of the Monarch fork so I splurged...

And after the crimping I was able to fit the rear...

Paul Components Crank and Shadow Conspiracy half link chain (yeah... Needed two of those...)


1" quill to 1 1/8" thread less stem with Bonty stem, low rise bars, and Rythm lock-on grips...


Classic Brooks B72 and fat-... rubber!

Thank you! I was hoping to mirror the curve of the rear wheel, but I don't have a bender so I did what I could. Not bad for my first custom tube.

So, I finally bit the bullet and cut off the first rendition of the seat tube. I fabricated a tube bender on my workbench...



And ended up with this...

I totally missed this build earlier this year.
I love what you did with the seat tube!!!!
Great looking bike.
By the way, it's actually a Flightliner frame and not a Spaceliner. It's equally cool, just different.
