My 10 year old daughter, Hannah, is building a bike for my 8 year old daughter, Chloe. Hannah raided my scrap bins and with a little help from me for direction and muscle on the stuck bolts, she took the bike out for it's first ride this afternoon. Hannah has been my helper in the garage since the bike bug bit me and it seems to have gotten her as well. Her mountain bike sits unused as she spends more time on her '69 Schwinn Hollywood or her Western Flyer. Hannah's taste are more custom, just look at her rides, while Chloe prefers her bikes with a more stock stance.
Here is Hannah's Hollywood
And her Western Flyer
And the proud builder with the bike she is building for her sister.
I sure enjoy having the company in the garage, but having her enjoy building bikes put a bigger grin on my face than when I am riding one of my own bikes!
