Still a little green at building up my own bikes from scratch and got a kind of weird question. I have a Dyno deluxe glide frame and want to put a 90 degree bent springer on it and can't find any bent springers with 1-1/8" necks, well most don't even state what size they fit. I know I have seen other Dynos with bent springers on them. If anyone knows if a 1" will work with some modifing or where to get the 1-1/8" bent springers would help me get my bobber style bike closer to being done. Thanks. And this is the best .... bike site on the net. Glad I joined.

Welcome aboard - and get thee over to the intro thread!

Now, about your springer problem.

Nirve does make a springer with the 1 1/8 steerer, both threaded and threadless. However it is not a bent springer. I would guess you could combine the threadless Nirve steerer with the legs & struts from a lowrider bent springer.

Adapters are also available to fit a 1" steerer into a 1 1/8" headtube. I don't have a link handy but I'll post one when I can dig it up.

Been to that site a million times and never seen that. Thanks. Thought I got ripped on that frame and the one for my wife. I got the dyno and she has the Kustom Kruiser deluxe glide (of course same company, different names). Found forks for it on ebay of all places. Right now got $60 bucks total in hers. And thats with $40 for the forks. Only got $20 in mine and thats the frame and a sweet never been used 3 speed shimano stick shift. Going to lenthin the arm on it and use it like a jockey shifter.

The ChopperUS part (thanks cman) is probably what you need, but if not, here's Even! More! Links!:

As far as I can tell, you would need to use a 1" ROADBIKE headset, not a 1" BMX headset with these adapters (yes, they are different)

Crupi Chameleon headsets are available that allow for 1" forks to be used in 1 1/8" frames but they are PRICEY.

*DISCLAIMER* I have no first hand experience with these particular headset parts. When mixing and matching parts, it's in your best interest to measure EVERYTHING first.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the heads up on the headset. Been looking for a way to do this for about 2 months now and it took 5 mins on here. Love this site.

I used the Probblem Solvers head tube rdeucer to mount my Monark repop springer on my Nirve, they worked good but as mentioned just need to make sure you're using the ISO 1" (not JIS or BMX) headset for the proper 30.2 mm cup size and 26.4 mm crown race.

Using the head tube reducer was about $170 cheaper than the Chris King Devo headset(~$140) which requires a grip nut converter(~$30) by CK if you wish to use the steerer tube threads.
