Question about brake cables

I got a 67 schwinn for my wife today and it is needing new brake cable. Are they all standardize? I mean what should I look for when getting a new set? It is also a three speed and It to needs to be repalced. Anyone out there that can help with some info would be great.

I think there are differences in the ends that lock into the levers. Best bet would be to take your old ones to your LBS and match 'em up. ~Adam

your standard generic brake cable set will work, they usually come with 2 different ends on them and you clip off the one you dont need. it should have weinman brake levers and calipers that use the asprin shaped ends on them.
