Heck, I can get greedy some times, too... but you gotta up the stakes. Asking $20 or $25 shipped for a used item you can get new and shipped for less.... dang, that's just $5 or $10 worth of greed. If I'm gonna go greedy, I wanna get at least a c-note out of the deal.

For the record, I feel like asking too much for vintage stuff--- stuff that's no longer in production-- is fair, b/c you can't just get the old stuff off of niagaracycle.com or amazon with a few clicks of the mouse. Yeah, it still makes little sense, but at least you can make some arguments about the condition relative to other vintage things, or the scarcity of this particular vintage thing, whatever. But there's no way the used item is going to be in better shape than the NIB one, and you can't tell me your current-production item is scarce when Niagaracycle's site suggests that they have several hundred of'm in-stock.

I don't understand this phenomenon either. I suppose it is just sellers hoping to get a lazy buyer. It is as if the seller thinks that the same Internet that led someone to their goods is not going to be used to verify the value of their offering. Ebay has some of the worst examples of price disparity on readily available merchandise.

Tater, I agree. I have actually posted links to the same item at a decent price in the "ask seller a question" part of eBay auctions, bet they never respond...:aggressive:

Your not joking about Ebay, was looking at something on there and the company its self had the item for 30 and I seen it listed for 45 and 50 bucks on ebay plus double the shipping.

I see that happen every time I go to a farm auction. Used farm equip. selling for more than you can get a new one for. Auctions make some people crazy with their money. Gary

What possesses someone to try to sell a used item that is still in current production for more than MSRP? Mind-blowing.
Bacause people must pay, or will pay.
I see Goose beast bikes listed at $250 on up, called rare and hard to get.....
