I decided to build this extra Shelby frame I got with another one, so I threw some parts together and three days later..... I am al lifelong Broncos fan, so this was hard to put together. Still playing with saddles, original wheels, lights, etc.
Thanks for the feedback on the bike and suggestion on the pics. Yes, it is one of those McCauley 1000 tanks you see that are fairly common (I think the guy had like 10 of them), though I had one in stock that I bought a year or so ago for $100. The tanks are common because the frames are very difficult to find. On the Shelby serial number project on The Cabe website, there are less than 10 listed since Shelby began operations. The tanks also fit some older tall frame bikes (Mead, Schwinn Admiral) but those are rare too. I modified a couple of these tanks to fit shorter frame Hawhtornes like the one in my profile pic.I like it...A LOT! Is that one of the eBay/CABE $125 tanks?
On your pics...if you 'Insert' your attachments 'Full Size', they are easier for people to view.
Thanks!! I'm finishing it today (except for the original period wheels - waiting on the front from a buddy in Denver) and will post some pics later. I'm going to sell it, so if you know anyone interested please send them my way. I got the frames to build a Shelby Lindy, which is Bronco colors. But let's be truthful, Bronco colors on a bike won't match that .... Raiders thing. Looks like I missed the ride again this month, but not next month!!!Being from Colorado, I was a Broncos diehard fan when I watched NFL.
I really like your build!
Or build a frame around the tank!I'll have to pick up a tank or two. Just carry it with me until I stumble across a frame it fits .
