Raleigh Bomber Ratter

Bought this bike at a show earlier in the year as a basket case, the wheels were too far gone for a resto so I had a go a stripping them down, painting the rims and lacing it all up again.

In time I may get the frame painted matt black but I'm enjoying it as is right now 8)
Gonna replace the shiny stuff with some parts more suited, rustier the better!

I have an old brooks type saddle that is ratty, thanks for reminding me!
The lack of pedals is due to lack of storage

Sweet... Most of mine have the pedals removed and tucked between the spokes.. It occured to me that I haven't ever seen a Raliegh w/anything other than skinny touring tires.. Is that factory? ~Adam

The Bomber was released in 1981 and ceased production around 85 due to the up and coming mountain bike craze over here.

do i spy some schwalbe returner whitewalls? i've been thinkin about gettin those. mind tellin where you got yours and how much they were?

I got the tyres from a company called chain reaction cycles in Ireland. I paid something like £13 per tyre. I bought 6 :mrgreen:

Fitted a more suitable saddle and more rusty parts this weekend.

Its also been reframed as the original was slightly bent.
