New acquisition...eye candy impulsive purchase. Bicycling magazine reviewed them in August 2017. It’s been on my radar...available at sale prices.

One of the better packed bikes that I’ve had, reusable Velcro straps in lieu of tape or wire ties. No damage, easy assembly.

Tires need cleaning, one stubborn sticker. Really a comfortable SS smooth ride out of the stand. It will get ridden. Added a bottle cage. Old school geometry, modern components. Grips are a little small diameter wise.
Rat Rod Kustom out of the box.

Shake down cruise on one of my common routes today, 12.67 miles rolling terrain.

Cleaned up the tires.

A friend offered up this observation:
Single speed hybrid cruiser?
Disc Brakes!
Is this a new bike or a tricked-out relic?

I like the look of this one, especially the ‘copper’ bars

The copper bars, were a draw for me as well. M700x45c Brown tires with no decoration, leather saddle, ornate chainguard with an optional one a little longer, eccentric bottom bracket, decent MKS pedals, mechanical disc brakes, pedal wrench, Allen wrench set, lock on grips, old school geometry with frame lugged fork, ovalized wheels, rack and fender mounts, copper tube accents, brass bell, copper headbadge. Sorta like a shiny Rat Rod build out of a box.
And it rides well even for my over hill body.

I’ve had my eye on the Preston ever since my LBS brought the Raleigh line into their shop. And they’re reasonably priced as well.

I ordered mine direct from Raleigh site. Now they show them as out of stock. Amazon shows them as available, also some other web sites. Close out prices.

Upgraded the pedals to MKS Prime Sylvan with copper plates.

I think I would flip the bars up.
Looks like a great bike!
Bars down are old school look, surprisingly comfortable. The stem has a little more rise than usual. Thanks no regrets so far.
It looks good.
I looked on Amazon, the large frame model is half the price of the small and medium size.
I’m 5’-10 1/2”, bought the L, good fit for me.
Looks like Raleigh site found some more. Pay sales tax at Amazon w/ free shipping. $20 shipping at Raleigh.
When I looked at Amazon all three sizes were same price.

It got a new bag...I removed the seat bag. Bag came from Turkey via Etsy.
