Work has picked up so won't get much done this week, but I started changing the rear end a bit.

Made the spike from a piece of round bar I turned on the lathe and shaped using the angle grinder.
The slots were cut with thin cutting disc.

Welded it on to the nut, back in the lathe and ground the welds down with flap disc on grinder and shaped it a bit more.


I do this quite often.
Turn things in the lathe and shape with grinder.

Just took it for the very first ride around the yard.
Well, to one end of the yard, then I had to get off and flip it around.

The turning radius leaves a lot to be desired.

I think with a few adjustments like seat position and handlebars it will be a bit better.
And yes of course a bigger front sprocket.
