We went camping on our holiday! Stopped the build (but not the rambles!) for a while.
Yesterday I worked on the pedals. I'll send an update today or tomorrow
Our large vehicle stuffed. The doors can fully open 180 degrees so you can fit a euro pallet in there.
Our heavy cotton tent. This is an old Dutch 'De Waard Kapmeeuw' for those interested

Dig the tent! And yes, that van is packed to the gills. I have many fun camping memories from my youth and as a parent with my sons.

That tent is massive! Awesome. I like my space and to be able to stand up inside
was important to me. My bad back has kept me from enjoying these things for
some time now. Miss the days of laying on the bare ground. That's a great tent.

Yes the tent is large, although this is a mid-size compared to some of this brand.
We can stand up straight in the tent but it is easier to get on your knees when you need to do things in the tent due to bad weather.
Mentioning bad weather... on a tuesday we had a thunderstorm that caused the whole campsite to be lit.
And the show was loud too, especiallyin a tent! Lightning struck within a mile of our tent, giving this bright yellowy flash. It was pretty tense!

I haven't done that much work on the burrito bike.
Lots of thinking and weighing options.
I wanted the rat fink stickers so bad on there that I tried ideas (drinking bottles, a licence plate) to put on the bike.
But I realized that this was'nt the flow state I was looking for.
The bike, except for a few details, is as good as done.
She rides just great. Seat is comfortable.
I was missing a detail near the rear wheel, since the front has much to look at and the rear is calmer.
I think I found something. Checkout the pictures below!
Pedals: The plastic 'temporary' pedals are turning smooth. Scraping the tarmac doesn't hurt a bit. So considered leaving those on.
Then I tried my 'custom' pedal project and I like it a lot! Too bad the pedals will get a little scrape damage...

And my ideas for a custom pedal:
2020 extrusion profiles!
Mockup, this is cool!
To 'get a grip' on the pedals, I will slide these nuts in and secure them with a grub screw!
Work in progress, but this looks very cool!!!

A piece of a hanger from the BO18 bike. Pretty cool.

Those pedal blocks are so cool, great idea!
Those pedal blocks are trick. You could fill the voids with different colored silicone
or something. Extra grip. Keep the dirt out. Black and white. Black and red. Red and
white. Nothing and leave it as is. Very cool. Great work there.

A little tribute to Von Dutch and classic ratrodding in general!
I finished the details with marking pens. I am planning on some actual paint and pinstriping in the future, but I took a short route for this. Turned out pretty good!

I really like my custom pedals so much I am considering to not assemble it on the bike, since I do get pedal strikes a lot. The current plastic pedals are very good and need no technical work.
I think I am ready for the finished bike thread
I've used extruded aluminum on several projects but never thought about on a bike. Killer pedals.

No update, but just a showcase since I won't use these pedals for the Ratneck:
I love it! I'll keep them for a future build or maybe as a prize for another buildoff since I couldn't find the energy to make it this buildoff.
