I'm Chris from the Malabon City, Philippines. Seems like we get lucky that a lot of bikes are shipped here in our country from Japan.
Learned that these bikes were sequestered by the Japanese government and have to get rid of them before their whole country would
be filled up with these bikes...

In our area, we're affected a lot by floods, so it's good to have these bikes that has stainless steel parts. Strong against rust.
Specially the rims and fenders.. man, it's like gold here in our area! We'll had it buffed and make it shine! We're proud that we
bikers of Malabon are the first ones to have these bikes dressed up like no other,

So here's my first bike, a bridgestone lady bike. Has stainless steel rims, fenders and basket..
We got lucky to chance upon this bike from a local surplus shop.

So here it is after some mods.
Hada copper tubing inserted on the second tube of the frame so that my cable will go through (for an easy to clean frame)
I had some parts buffed - stainless steel parts (handlebar, fenders, rims, basket and fender struts and basket) and alloy (break levers and handlepost)

Added some more parts
-Stainless steel spokes
-Bridgestone dynamo generator front hub + Bridgestone headlight
-Shimano Nexus 4speed Internal geared rear hub
-Huffy bicycle speedometer
-Bent chrome stand
-white grips and pedals
-cateye tail light
-white umbrella and holder
-had the seat reupholstered to white
then had painted it red and white... hope you guys like it.

thanks guys. heck yeah you're right about the umbrella and it certainly helps when we go out strolling when the sun's up! Jeepney bike? sounds an interesting project  As for your request of a jeepney pic, would find the best in our area and post the pics here.

so here are more japanese bikes from our group here. I'm really sorry for the pic quality, shot only with a camera phone

So here's are some pics from our bike show last dec'07

And here's what we call the "Padyak". One of Malabon City's means of transportation. Frame's stainless steel, anti-rust because our streets here are flood-prone

Those are some neat bikes. You guys ever go to Rizal Park? My dad was there in WWII and I have some old pics of him standing near what was left of the old Agriculture Ministry building after liberation. Thanks!!!
