Since I cant seem to work on just one bike at a time Ive decided to start doing something with the schwinn skiptooth I have. Id like to get it atleast rideable even tho it probably wont get rode much. I figure id start with relacing the rear rim. heres what Im starting off with.

Not sure if the hoop is salvageable

Any help would be great like spoke size/ length

Not sure if i can salvage one but going to try to tomorrow. Surprised the spokes are still holding the bike up as thin as they are.

You'd be surprised with these old quality parts! I have a wheelset on a rusty prewar Rollfast with thin, rusty spokes. It's the bike I probably ride the most and the hardest. Waiting for one to snap on me but it's yet to happen

Every balloon tire wheel of the era (that I have seen) used a 4cross pattern and a spoke length of 268 to 270mm. If those are S2's they tend toward 270mm. The standard size is 14g or .080in. The original spokes were double-butted. The rims are "tubular" or double walled... the inner layer can rust through in addition or aprt from the external visible layer.
