Yea, I thought of that. I'll check the local mom and hardware stores. Not sure I can get a die that size at Lowe's.
You won't find one at Lowe's. I went through this last year building the Bhuzzard.

The best deal that I found was HERE on feePay. (1"-24 TPI Right Hand Thread).

Great, thanks for the heads up.

Did you start this bike last weekend ???? Lol. Man your making progress. Just getting caught up looks like a great frame that's cleaned up well . And that fork is killer I almost jumped on it my self but I'm happy you ended up with it because it may have just been sitting on the shelf for a while . [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

That fork looks great on your frame! I had to fight with myself a number of times just to keep from buying it! I really like how this is coming along!

You know the myth of goldfish not having a memory? Well I'm kinda like that, if I don't focus deep on things I get bored and forget about them. So yesterday I broke out the steel wool and got busy.
Plus I want to have the main part of this build finished by the first week of June, the bike is the main part.

Thanks, I did the same on the fork. Its like those days when my last two brain cells are fighting. But I'd never seen one before, so I had to buy it.

Gee's Jim you jumped in head first...Great progress Love the bars and frame. Ummmming n arrrrring about the tank?

Thanks, I'm trying to get the bike part done fast as I can.

I like the tank, but not sure how to mount it. I'll probably just make one, but I'll go crazy thinking about it til then.

I know what you mean,I'm sure you will get it to sit just right.

Shakes-beer, can we see a pic with the tank in position as in the last pic of post #47....(wait, did I just say post 47 ?? and we are only starting Day 3 of the build off?? you social monster you...) but with the bars turned down? I think that will be really trick! And that fork is killer.....

I don't know which is post 47, do you want a clearer pic of the long end of the tank on the middle bar pointed toward the seat?

So, I call this thing rELEVENt SETBACK. The reason for that is due to being laid off work so many times, I wasn't able to save the money to build what I intended. I was going to call it setbacks, but then rELEVENt came available.

Well this morning is another one of those setbacks, just got laid off again. Machines being moved building to building means a lot of people off. Not sure how long this one will last, but hey; atleast I have nearly every part of this bike already in my garage.

Looks like I'll get this part done by June after all.:113:

I can't 'like' this, because I've been through it myself (the lay off stuff). But, I can encourage you to keep your head up, and the rubber side down! And...keep busy with this current build, I have a feeling it might be one of your best. My best creativity has often come during times of transition (song writing, built my fire pit patio during a lay-off, etc). Rat on my brother in rust!

Thanks OJ, the lay offs are just a nuisance. This is the 5th time in as many months, they usually last a week. But a week's pay is a week's pay.
The big issue is my wife thinks we might not be able to take our full trip this summer, I think we'll be fine.

Anyway, I now know what pic you were talking about. I get a good shot of it with the bars upside down to see how it flows with the tank.

So now comes my education, I have to take these apart and strip the paint.

Will decide later if I'll leave them bare or repaint.
Then I have to lace up this old bendix

So yea, my first attempt at wheel building.
