I am working on a vintage CCM bicycle and it has been repainted but the old paint appears to be underneath. Are there tricks to removing the newer paint without damaging the original finish?
Try using rubbing alcohol that normally works for me. Just place a small amount on a rag and start in a small area to see if it starts to clear up. Works on most of the spray bombs I have gotten over the years.
Oven cleaner.
1. Spray on - Let sit from 1-10 minutes. Experiment with time for maximum results with minimum damage to the original.
2. Wipe off with a very wet rag/towel. Use a bucket of clean water to rinse well
