I feel like this should be easier than it is, but this is the first crank that I have taken off and it doesn't seem to want to budge. I soaked the nut (shown in the pic below) with liquid wrench and it won't move. I've tried clockwise and counter clockwise. Am I doing something wrong?

Good call...It was all about patience and knowing to turn it clockwise. It came off without too much of a struggle. I just needed to walk away from it for a minute.
