Removing spokes

Ok just need some help with spokes removing then putting them back in painting some rims so how hard is this to do I have never tried this do I need a special tool Thanks guys.

Yes, you should get the right spoke wrench.
Oil, with penetrating oil, all the nipples.
Loosen a little at a time, working your way around the wheel.
There is a thread on wheel building, pinned at the top of the how-to threads.
