I bought a vinyl seat with a small cut underneath at the edge. I'm trying to think of ways to repair it. Packing tape will probably come loose. I was thinking maybe superglue and a clamp? Any ideas from experience?

I have had good luck with taping up the viewable surface to hold everything in place then several light coats of rubber cement on the back (non-vizable) side.

Is it a visible tear? Yeah, vinyl repair kit if you can get a color match.

Is it somewhere out of sight? cut off a tiny piece of Gorilla Tape, press gently, check after 5 minutes for creases/bulges and gently smooth over with your finger-it will never come off.

I-sorta found this out the hard way.Four days ago I had just finished stripping out a rotted old banana seat, de-rusted and painted the pan, and cut 11 layers of a cheap foam wrap into a foam and spray adhesive sandwich. Three thin layers of Gorilla Tape held the sandwich onto the pan while the adhesive began to dry-

-and then it began to get cloudy and misty, threatening to ruin the adhesive, and I really really really REALLY wanted to give my frame a test-ride and see if I needed to correct my chain and...

Long story short-I now have a banana seat covered with Gorilla Tape, and it won't come off. :headbang: It's not...the prettiest thing i've ever seen, but it seems really durable, completely weatherproof and, well, comfy. I might be able to spray adhesive directly on the tape and stretch some leather or cloth across it, but I er, i'm seriously thinking about leaving it just like it is. Who in his right mind would steal such a thing, right? :D

Another Gorilla Tape seat

I picked up this very nice original leather Persons seat but, as seen it has some issues. The leather is damaged on the edges of the pan and brittle and cracking.
I bought the seat because of the original leather and wasn't aware the leather was this brittle.
Not wanting to recover the seat what can I do to keep it from further damage?
Making this a rider seat is and was the plan. But because of the damage location and friction from the legs while pedaling I'm sure it's just going to get worse.
Thanks for you input.

It's all about the Tanklights!!

How did I run out of room so fast?

Talking about repairing seats, I have one seat for a Dyno & the plastic frame is cracked. The vinyl is stapled to the plastic frame, do those staples go in & stays straight or do they bend?

Two Part epoxy is your friend add paint to colour it when you are mixing it together works great on black seats .
Dry's clear otherwise .
