Single speed gravel grinder bike with 40mm sealed monster cross tires holding 40 psi, 1920s Philco center pull rear brake and levers, 1960s MAFAC cant front brake and Giant chromo fork customized to fit 700c rims. First generation Sugino Maxi crank. Wishbone stem from an old early mountain bike. Seat recovered in red leather. Handlebar tape stops made from 20 gauge shotgun shells. Valve stem caps made from pistol brass. Sealed bottom bracket. BMX pedals. Double step riveted 8 speed chain. Cell phone holder for ride coordinates (no cell service for the back country up here). Front bag for tools, food, maps and salt/magnesium/potassium pills. The frame, headset, and tank are from a $149 Sam's Club reproduction 1952 Columbia. 100k and 100 mile gravel grinders are usually done without any aid stations or support. you are on your own. Lots of fun and easy to ride on gravel but slow compared to the multi speed bikes. I came in almost last in it's initial 100k gravel grinder.
