I was working at a house when I saw this bike resting in a garden against a flag pole, the floating hub caught my attention so I walked over and was amazed at all the goodies on this "lawn ornament" I knew this one could not stay outside so I found where the owner worked and stopped and pleaded with him that this one was way too good to keep outside. He had bought it at a flea market for this sole purpose and clearcoated the entire bike, I left after telling him about the different rare parts.
2 days later I came home to find the bike in my driveway, he arrived later and told me take what I want but just give him back a complete looking bike he can put back in his garden. This one I don't feel bad stripping and replaceing the parts with common parts.

I'd just find an old walmart bike, paint it blue, and see if that'll be good enough for his garden.

KZ, don't you have some kind of old girls bike to just trade him?
Yes plenty, BUT then I would have another girls bike with good parts that I would feel "guilty" stripping so she would sit untouched. This way I get the good parts, he gets the frame back with common fenders, chainguard, wheels, etc. and I can get a good nights sleep :)

And the bike has already had the rear wheel replaced, and was clearcoated so it's not 100% original anymore

KZ, I know what you mean, girls bikes just stack up around here too. maybe you can flip that tank over and make it work on a boys bike. Lots of good parts.
