I bought this bike from Craig list and had it mailed here, the only things missing are the train light and rocket, the cheese greater rack is beyond repair I found the train light.
I think the original color was a blue with white tank and chain guard. I found some pictures of what I think are the same years they are blue and a turquoise, I don’t know witch color to go with?
I will post the pics you guys let me know?

This is a beautiful paint job, I think they call it (BARN RED) applied with a 3 inch brush...and the rims are shiny chrome right out of a can.

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark

Right on another awesome Monark build from you!

IMHO the turquoise is a great color on theses bikes

Looking forward to progress pics

Also the paint around the Monark logo on the tank looks familiar was this on Chicago Craiglist?

Thanks

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... more pics ...

Looks great, I'd stay with the blue since that is what was original.

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... more pics ...

I'm with Skipton on the turquoise color! I think it looks awesome with white. Really cool bike, no matter what color you end up with! 8) Can't wait to see it all put together.

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... more pics ...

You bought this out of Easton PA didn't you? I tried lowballing the guy but didn't work obviously

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... Turquoise it is...

What kind of paint did you use to do the seat? I'm restoring an old springer seat but am not sure what direction to go with the paint on the coil springs. Don't want to waste time and paint it, sit on it, and have the paint crack....

If you are talking about spring in the front it is just gloss black out of a can, the 2 springs in the back are going to be chromed.

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... Turquoise it is...

thats a real nice color you choose.. i thinking of useing that same color on my build.... i will be watching this build...

The paint came out a little blue-er than i wanted it was hard to match from my iPhone...it will just have to do

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... Turquoise it is...

That color reminds me of the turquoise they used on the 55, 56 & 57 Chevys with white! I like it! 8)

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... Turquoise it is...

Wow, looks great

Re: Restoring 1950 Monark... Turquoise it is...

once again nice build, are you using a single stage glossy?
