Has anyone used them, are they any good? They certainly seem to be built better than those in the slightly cheaper price bracket, and still significantly cheaper than others that seem comparable...

Luke.

Not sure; I think they're Oz-market brakes? Even a googling here returned an ebay auction on Australian eBay, and some alibaba sites.

The guy on eBay wanted $50au or 2 calipers with pads and hardware, but no rotors. That's pretty cheap, but only f you also get cheap rotors....

I tend to avoid discs, but if I do mess with em, I go for Avid bb7s...

BB5 has one knob on the caliper for adjustability; the bb7 has 2. That, and about $15-$20 USD. I can get a bb5 tuned nice pretty quick, but it's much quicker on the bb7.

Beware, b/c there is a "road" (short-pull) and "mountian" (long-pull) version of both the bb5 and the bb7.

Hey Luke, like Bicycle808 said, the BB7s are easier to fine adjust without tools. If you are looking for decent calipers without breaking the bank, have a look at these BB5 clones on Ebay. Ebay Calipers
With the exception of the color, they are identical to the Cooma Blues.

I'm using a pair on my Basman cruiser and they stop that barge just fine.
