Anybody on here ever ride the whole length of the outer banks of NC? I love the area and would like to make the ride from one end to the other. I have driven it in a car, so I' familiar with the route. I wonder when would be the best time and should I ride North to South or South to North?

I would ride south-to-north. The prevailing winds (from the Southwest) would be at your back from Ocracoke to Buxton, and from the left side from Buxton to Corolla. That would give you a boost to Buxton and at worst would blow you OFF the road away from traffic the rest of the way.
