Having trouble with something. We want to run wide 20" wheels on the rear, but we're having trouble finding options. The widest I can find is a 20x4.25. Is that the widest possible?

I'm running 12" wide norco's on Sirocco. http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=52524 The tires and wheels are what the kite dune buggies use, they are light weight.

A trip to the farm and garden section of most hardware and large chain will present you with a wide range of widths and diameters to choose from. Lawn tractors have wide tires so they don't chew up the turf.

Quad ATV's have some pretty wide tires and wheels.

I have a hunch you'll get a link to using motorcycle tires on the wide rims as another option.

But as bicycle tires go, the road hawks on the chopper rims are the widest I know of.
