rim question

hey guys i had some rims givin 2 me today ..i have never seen rims this skinny and they look real tall...give me the run down on how 2 measure these wheels ..axel 2 the edge of rim x 2 for size ? so if there 27s how do i know what size tire i need i guess i waht im askin ...i dont do much with big road bikes so im kinda lost here ...thnx for the help guys ..or gals !!!! mike

Take rim to LBS and say I need a tire to fit this..... :lol: :lol: :lol:

If they are real skinny I would say the are 700s..the rim might have it stamped by the air valve hole ..
Or take a picture and post it..What did it come off of..?

Normally I have a bunch of tires hanging on the hook that are all different sizes even if they are no good just so I can check sizes, If I don't have the size then I take it to the LBS and ask. I hear you about the bike shop "Those guys" My LBS is ok but they look down on you unless you ride a $5,000 carbon fiber fixie pixie.
