Roadmaster Renagade year?

Please help tell what year this may be. My Evolution book shows 1962 maybe.? Serial #R212458 As I am reading it. Original tires springer buddy seat gold bike. Goodyear tire on rear. Davis on front. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I'd say you're in the neighborhood, early-mid 60s with a metal haedbadge. Phil/rms 37 is the only one I know (besides the erratic NBHAA) who has any post 1956 AMF serial info. I know the 2 doesn't mean '62, as it would on a Huffy bike. -Adam

Thanks. Here is a shot of the stem. Definitely older style....
Anybody else? RatRod had the beautiful gold one with the tiger seat and I am pretty sure this is older.

...I was researching another Roadmaster question, and ran across a '62 ad. It does show the Renegade, looking exactly like yours, no fenders, so it very well may be a 62. -Adam

Yes that is probably the ad I saw. Says tire size, buddy seat, and listed as flamboyant gold with white accents! Thats why I am sure thinking 1962. I am sure glad for your input.

I'm not an expert in muscle bike history but the huffy pinguin is said to be the first appearing in '62?

And the seat on the renegade looks like a late 60s.

Really interested to have more info on this AMF.
