Gave one bike away today so I thought I had better replace it. Had these parts around that I had bought from some of you, Rollfast stem that I picked from the American Pickers for $10 and tires and grips from the Arlington Heights show last week. Just going black satin frame with ivory accents and a recovered or homemade seat. Oops can't get a photo in yet from the IPad.

Plasma cut some seat pan blanks out of 16 ga steel $14 at Menards. 18 ga would have been easyerto form but thet do not stock it.

Put the inter pan back on the buck with the outer pan blank over it hammered and made a few relief cuts at the nose and outer edge of that had to be welded. Removed from buck and hammered in the Butt indents and shape using a poly mallet from Harbor Freight. Still need to weld in some elevator bolts for attachment.

Re: Roadmaster...Seat Work

Got the padding and leather on the pan I wouldn't want to do that for a living! Padding is 1/4 " neoprene just to where the pan starts to curve over then this thick cotton batting I got at the fabric store.

Looks really nice! I got an old springer seat that has rusted out pans... looks like a fun project, I think I'll try it. Thanks!
