This is how it looked when i found it at a yard sale a couple blocks from the house. i think it is a 1946.

Nice! Looks just like the 46/47 model I had. It's serial number was J96003 if memory serves. Same handlebars and seat. I was told if it had 2 braces on the rear fender, it came new without a rear rack. I didn't have the original rear wheel, but your wheels look like they match.

yes the bike had a motor at one time.

the letter in the ser.number and a lot of reading of different post here and on the cabe. it all points to a 1946 for this bike.
