Robinson Rebel Rebuild FINISHED!!!

Ok we'll it's been a while since my last build so I thought I'd better do one last one before it gets colder. Scored this nice Robinson Rebel off of Craigslist in a trade so here's what I'm starting with.

Plans include: black acs z rims with new decals, new Robinson decals (put in their proper locations), paint the chainring black, keeping the blue tires, and throw a red viscount aero seat on it and a few GT parts. Just a nice red, chrome, and blue build.

Already got the rims broken down and the first coat of paint on the z rim hoops. Tomarrow I get to relace them and true them.

Ok today's update: I wanted to tone down the look a bit and keep it classic red, white (chrome), and blue. To me it looked over done, I like the subtle look.

I got the wheels apart
painted the Z-rims flat black
laced them back up (When I get the white ACS decals they will help brighten the wheels but also keep the wheel set black in case I decide to use them on another build)
painted the chain ring flat black (Back to stock color)
Swapped out the stem for a GT piston stem
Swapped the seat clamp to a GT
swapped the pedals to a nicer alloy set I had in the toolbox (The plastic ones are GT but I wanted alloy
swapped on the red Viscount Aero seat

Now just waiting on the two decal sets and I can pretty much finish it.

i did clean up alot of the surface rust on this on last year ...its got a long way 2 go 2 even start 2 look like urs !!!

You'd be surprised how easy it is, make up an oxalic acid bath and yours would look better than mine. This one had already been cleaned when I got it. I can't wait to get the decals for it.

I got my decals ordered so they should be here in 5-10 business days on the one set and 8-10 on the other. I can't wait.

I got my decals today and they are just what the doctor ordered. I used a buddy of mine's heat gun and got the old ones off and put the new ones on. I'll get pics soon as it gets light enough outside. Now just waiting on the ACS Z rim decals.

Okay so my new Robinson decals are installed so I got some progress pics. Still waiting on the ACS Z Rim decals to come in so I can finish it.

I like them a lot! They really set those rims off nicely. That's a very nice frame too..I've never seen those before, and I love the shape of those stays where they meet the rear dropouts..sweeeet 8)

Robinson was made by GT back in the day from what I have heard. It's been a fun build.
