This is gut wrenching.
I never met Ian, never got to join any of the Northampton night life rides, but I definitely learned a lot from his posts here. He's been a big presence for sure.
I hope that he and his family are able to find peace.

I am sorry to inform you all that Ian passed this morning holding his wife's hand.
Our sincere condolences to the family. Such sad news.
I Pray that his family will be able to find Peace & Comfort during this extremely difficult time in their lives.
I never knew Ian, but after getting Jeffery's message last night through GFM, my wife & I held each other tight & had a moment of silence for him & his family.

Never good to get news of something like CJD. Everything points to a life very well lived focused on family and the wider community. There are no words aside from he spread love, life and joy and left an impact that will not quickly be forgotten.

Just heard the news about Ian this morning from Matti.
Sometimes the spirit of a person transcends time and space, the physical world as we know it. To me, Ian had that kind of spirit. He could intuitively interject comments on builds that were all at once inspiring, and insightful. I only knew him through interactions on the forum, and some conversations we had related to his cycling heritage and making yet another order for his fine classic grips that he produced.
But I felt like I knew him.
