i know not everybody goes to the buildoff discussion thread, so i wanted to remind everyone in the buildoff that i am giving away one fantabulous handcrafted 'bendix' bottle opener to the bendix hub equipped bike that steve and i just plain like the best!!

pm me or be sure to mention in your finished build post that a bendix hub was one of your components. i've totally lost track of most of the build threads so those would be the best ways for me to know you are interested.

:( Perry B100.... What a shame, all that beer in my fridge and no chance at an awesome Bendix bottle opener.

i think i made one perry opener years ago.....probably sold it at veloswap to some gimble who most likely complained of the price- i eventually decided it wasn't worth the trouble and mostly just give them away now......

Re: RRBBO Bendix Memorial Trophy Reminder!! LAST CALL!

OK, i've spent a good part of the evening looking through the finished bikes and while i have a pretty good eye for a bendix hub i'll admit to being a bit cross eyed at this point.... :D

in addition to the posters here already i saw the "puerto rican barrio burner' and the "spaced out build"....anybody else that wants to be considered?? anybody??

Re: RRBBO Bendix Memorial Trophy Reminder!! LAST CALL!

i'll get my post together tonight!

(i'm still shredding confetti, blowing up balloons, and gathering ticker tape).

actually i figured i'd let the dust settle from the overall voting first. too much excitement is bad for the nerves....

The Fat Rat won? THE FAT RAT WON? YEA.....
Thank you. Thank you very much (come on say it like ELVIS would've). I have to thank Bendix for this lovely and functional award, it will be proudly used. I must thank RRB for this opportunity to build this bike, and to the many critters who gave there all and became one with this bike ( no I did not kill these critters ). And mostly, I have to thank the LBS owner that back in 1964 encouraged me to get the Schwinn Sting Ray with the Bendix Automatic 2 speed kickback, the hub of my preference today and always. I've put them on all three of my RRBBO bikes ( RRBBO3- Rust Rat, RRBBO4- Starliner, RRBBO6- Fat Rat ) and many of my other bikes( Alumasled, Captain America Razor bike, Beerbike, 1947 Continental), and 4 or 5 more for future builds.
Thank You Mr. Bendix. Thank You very much.
