Love this thread!!!


Here is my Schwinn DX as it came from the neighbors farm (it was his older brother's bike in the late 40's). I have it all stripped down now and a buddy offered to powder coat it for me at cost, but I really want to leave it rusty. I like the looks of the satin clear poly. Just got ot figure out how to prep it for spraying.

Schwinn Rustcycle AKA Schwinn Typhoon Double Straight bar. So rusty the white graphics are lifted off of the red paint/rust.



Just picked it up off of C-List. Super rusty, but the wheels spin, it pedals and it steers. if it would stop better...

1958 Schwinn tornado
frame is as found
wheels are Schwinn (s2 i think but not positive)
rest is parts thrown together from my junk pile
the tires are Schwinn spitfire 24 inch
it rides OK but she's got some battle scars i plan on keeping

Here is my pile of rust Schwinn 24" Majestic and a pretty sweet patina 26" Tiger with apes. Both get some heavy cruising.

This old Sterling is just a back yard decoration. We got it at a local auction last year for $10.
