SA 3 SP Shifter Options

Does anyone know if you can use an old school SA trigger shifter with this newer SA 3 speed set up?
I prefer the trigger shifter over the grip- shifters. That's the reason I'm asking. Thanks!

yes. it'll also work better with an old funnel nut, rather than the black bits at the top of the pic.
