I like the more elongated shape of your bottle. Here's a thought....could you cut it in half and pierce the bottle with the head tube to pull it back into the frame a bit more?

Welcome home Lee!!
I'm not planning to use the whole seltzer bottle. If I go this route, I would just cut the top domed half and make it the front of the jeweled headlight.

Have you finished the seltzer in that bottle yet Brian? The RRB world is waiting....

Should be able to get some work done this weekend on SaltHammer.
Biz trips have been eating my lunch this build off.

The seltzer bottle light is the kind of out of the norm inovation you've brought to these build offs in the past, see where that takes you.

Thanks man. Out of the norm uses of out of the norm stuff is what draws me to RRB. Just look at past build offs and the RRB Buried Treasure Gallery.

Finally had some time to work on SaltHammer.
Removed the Moon discs. I couldn't get the drive cog off of the ND Schwinn wheelset even after removing the lock rings. Luckily Josh was online and I found out that he was never able to remove it either. I had to remove the cog by pulling it out with the drive side inner guts of the hub. Fairly easy.

I test fit the Moons on the wheels that I am using and then laid the first coat of red on the rims. About 1/8" of red will show between the Moons and the tires.

I also tested a possible color for the triple ducktail fenders. I know that I do not want to leave them black. I am thinking of using Hammered Antique Pewter by Rustoleum. The red is Satin Colonial Red.

Everyone knows I am not a welder, but I do sleep at Holiday Inn Express hotels and know how to use JB Weld.

Taped up the Gaskill racktank on the top side to hold everything in line

Then I figured I would JB Weld these pieces of my trusty rollaway cot spring steel to the racktank and lay a bead of the JB Weld down the center seam as well.

Busy Saturday for the travelin' man! I say get hammered on those fenders fo sho!

While waiting for paint to dry on a hot humid 105 degree heat index Savannah day, I decided to try out my idea on putting these items together. Jeweled headlight, Seltzer bottle, Glass world globe paperweight, and Trim ring from another headlight.

The fish are curious.

I cut the top of the seltzer bottle.
Then I removed the inner threads from the mouth of it.

Then I temporarily mounted the glass world globe paperweight as a lens.

The seltzer bottle top fit snugly inside the jeweled headlight.

Then I slid the trim ring that I stole from another light and it fits perfectly too.

Gonna study some fender stripes/darts/chevrons and see if they will play well with the duck tails or not.
