Hey Everybody,
Bought this at a swap meet last weekend (will post some other pics in "Events" later).
It kinda sounded like I was saving it from the metal recycler
It's has a Coast to Coast Hardware sticker
I haven't looked it over very well yet
For $5, I couldn't pass it up!
I've always wanted to buy a bike super cheap :D

Thanks for looking

Looks nearly identical to a '69 Firestone Warrior I have. Same paint scheme and it's even faded the same!

Thanks Guys
I'll have to find a "warrior" picture
I guess someone thought it was worth enough to buy a license

It is low on the build-list but it might look cool if I can get the paint off and leave the rust

The new mayor of Chicago wants to charge a fee for bicycles. If it goes through, you can ask Skipton all about it. Gary

Thanks Scott
CycleTruck and B607,
In the "old days", you would license your bike so it would be harder to steal
and/or you might have a better chance getting it back if it was stolen (registered the SN)
My Dad bought them for our bikes when we were kids
They weren't mandatory, And I don't think they should be (IMO)
As soon as they do something like making it mandatory then someone will come up with a way around it
Maybe "bootleg" licenses or something
Interesting topic this has become...

the previous owner must've paid at least $5 for that license!!! haha what a steal

Coast to coast hardware? Are they still around? I remember back in the early early Nineties we used to have one here in town when I was around 11-12 and I loved that place. They had all kinds of bike parts and accessories, then one day out the blue sky they were gone.

Thanks guys,
I don’t remember seeing any Coast to Coast HW stores for quite a while
Looks like there are some on the West Coast and MO

The “mag” chainring has got me thinking about a Sting Ray style bike…
I’ll put my next related acquisition on soon

BTW: there was no picking, negotiating, or stealing skills involved
Nick tagged the bike at that price when I saw it
He had some other nice bikes that day for some reasonable prices (IMO)
Hopefully he puts some up for sale here

Hey there's nothing wrong with a Huffy, They are easier to rat knowing you'll probably increase it's value.

This is one I built last year, the "Bootlegger" Notice I did a little work to the sprocket.
