1977 Schwinn Tornado. The bike didn't come with it's original front number plate, so I made one.
1979 Schwinn Mag Scrambler SX-500. This one is probably my favorite BMX. Its a beautiful bike. It rides very good. The first photo of the Scrambler is with it's original tires. The rear is still usable. The front was literally falling apart. I have since replaced the tires to make it safe to ride.
The Scrambler and Tornado together, taken' 01-12-13. I honestly found both of these bikes on Craigslist. The same person had them, so I scooped them both up. Thanks for looking!!
This is my Scwhinn Del Mar. Everything that's red exept for the chain and decals are powdercoated. The handle bars are also powder coated and I made them from electrical tubing. There are a few more nuts and bolts I have to powdercoat, but I'm about done. The pedals were a set my son gave me and they too were disassembled and powdercoated. I added spikes to the fenders which are a bit tricky when taking turns. If my feet are too far up the pedal, my shoe will scrape them. I was thinking of adding a springer fork to push the spikes away a bit. They are what everyone talks about first when they see my bike. I would like to take the wheels apart so I can do the spokes in red next, but spring is coming and I have to ride!
Here's a '72 Suburban that I just finished going through:
Sorry about the poorly lit, crappy cell phone photos. I'm waiting for a nice day to take it outside and get some better ones. And also, a '72 Collegiate that I finished back in the fall...
