I tried some different tire choices today.

This is still not exact. I just used some tires and wheels that I had on hand. The blackwall and the whitewall are both smaller than I would use. I ran out of daylight before I could try a larger Bontrager Hank blackwall (I might try it tomorrow). The Fat Frank is the size that I like, but is not properly tucked into the fender in the photo because the axle on that wheel was too large to fit the fork dropouts. I also tried a brick red tire but didn't bother taking a photo because I immediately ruled it out.

What do y'all think?

It just has that tucked in the wheel well custom look.

Thanks for the opinions everyone, and yes Joe it really is a '57 Schwinn (sort of) ...it's a '57 TRM Schwinn. :D

Falstaff, initially the creme Fat Franks were first on my list also. But, I have changed my mind and eliminated them.
After more thought, I looked at Schwinn ads from the 50s and there were only two choices; blackwalls and whitewalls. Even though this is my own convertible tank, I'm trying to create a bike that looks like an original survivor and not a custom.

So, today I mounted an original set of vintage 2.125 Schwinn blackwalls and a set of newer 2.125 whitewalls. I really want to use the vintage Schwinn tires to further bolster the survivor look, but I like the look of the whitewalls with the green and white paint also. I wish I had an original set of Schwinn 2.125 whitewalls!

I agree, I understand the incentive to use the vintage tires but it just looks too much better with the whitewalls.
I believe tires are an item that gets a "pass" on vintage vehicles, as long as they are the right style.
I suppose you could try to "patina" them if you wanted.
 
Agreed, whitewalls. Just dirty them up a little for the aged look.
 
I took a grinder to my too-knobby cruiser tires and rounded the shoulders (more so on the front one) and smoothed up the tread. Looks much better.
