I could be all wet, but when I see these marked "A" - I think it stands for Ashtabula, which I think was a foundry.

Could be Ashtabula, which was a huge bike parts supplier out of Ashtabula, OH. They made tons of forged forks for Schwinn so likely made them a few cranks too. Gary

Not from those numbers. Let's see a pic of the rest of it. If it's a dog leg, it's likely prewar or early postwar. If it's smooth sided then it's likely a 50's or newer. Gary

I've had a few Schwinn cranks like that, I hoped for a date and they had the same markings. as yours They were all from 60's Schwinns.
 
Oops! My bad. No StingRay ever had a dog leg crank. Early shorty StingRays definitely have a shorter crank. Gary
