Schwinn Cycle Truck

Went to bike shop to buy some tubes yesterday and the owner says I think I have something in my truck you might like. I looked in the back of his SUV tangled up with other junk bicycles,wow a pre war Schwinn Cycle Truck. The owner of the shop thought it was a Workmans Cycle Truck from the 60's.This thing looks pretty much complete I just need the lid for the basket. The head badge reads Freret Bike Store

It looks like it has a painted bird wing chainguard. The bird wing was chrome on the deluxe bikes until '40. In '41 you see the bird wing painted and on the DX. If it was a DX I'd say '41 for sure. Not positive when they used that guard on the cycle truck though. Gary

Nice find! I like the patina. Personally I'd wash it, clear it, and call it done.
