Schwinn Le Tour

Hello everybody,'

I have decided to start another build with my free Le Tour. When I got the bike all of the gear components were in really bad shape so I took everything off. I had planned to just run it like that, but I soon got bored with it so last week I decided to tear her down completely and customize it a little bit. Now on with the pictures.

When I first brought it home:

I stole the wheels from one of my Racers for now, but I would like to get some new ones. Anybody have any ideas as to what would work the best? I would like to keep it a coaster and am not looking for anything too expensive.

I started by stripping the frame of all the components:

Then I got on with polishing the aluminum pieces!

This is how shes sitting currently:

I got the front end all cleaned up and re-greased, the bb re-greased, the frame cleaned up, all of the chrome has been shined, all I am waiting for is to finish polishing the remaining aluminum pieces and I have to cut down the handlebars so they are not so wide. Oh and then something has to be done about rims and tires!

Well today was a nice day so I got the Le Tour pretty much wrapped up and on the road. She road like a dream, I just gotta get used to the riding position.

They ride really nice.....if you're tall that is :lol: Mine just crowded the family jewels.
