Schwinn Stingray frame and BMX forks?

I am a bit of a bike building noob, but here is my deal:

I am combining a '77 Stingray frame with some GT BMX parts, and mag wheels.

My question: What do I need to watch out for when buying BMX forks and headset for the Stingray frame? Do I need a specific size?

I am purchasing the needed parts from eBay and such, so want to ensure the parts fit perfectly.

stingray takes a standard 1" (road/mtb) headset, BMX 1" headset is for a slightly larger head tube. they will both work with 1" BMX forks

My late 80s (87 i think) GT forks fit perfectly in my stingray headtube.
