schwinn tire sizes

I have what I believe is a 62' Schwinn Typhoon. I would like a tan or white wall tire. What is the best place to buy vintage bicycle tires and are 26 x 1.75 the only size that will fit, I am finding alot of 26 x 2.125? Thanks

your local dealer, or ebay for tires. the typhoon, a middleweight, if original, uses proprietary schwinn 26 x 1 3/4 s-7 tires which differ in diameter from 26 x 1.75. they're still available though.

no, the schwinn diameter is larger than the usual mtb diameter.

If you aren't sure if they are the Schwinn rims, read the size of the tire on it right now. 1 3/4 will be Schwinn, 1.75 will be standard.
