hi need help i have 1961 tornado but it has the twin strait bar that go allway down to the dropouts not like my 1960 tornado or skipper so I think it is a typhoon but the kickstand is a clamp on the seral numbers say it is 1961 the did not make this frame untill 1962

I just sold a Typhoon with a Dec 61 date code, I've seen earlier 61's though too labeled as both skippers and tornados with the "62" frame.

hey thanks i will try to get some pics up new to forum did your typhoon have clamp on kickstand sorry guys hit the wrong button

August of 61 is the earliest Ser. # I have seen on that frame. And except for December 61 ser. #'s all other frames dated 61 did not have the welded on kickstand tube. I will go out on a branch here and say, if it has a welded on kickstand tube it is a Typhoon.

I'll agree with Slick Rick on that, I know in the case of Stingrays, the next years models could be found with dates as early as Sept at times. I believe there has also been a Flying Star model with that frame pop up too.

I think they were ramping up for Christmas and that is why you see early build dates on certain models. Heres mine.
