Schwinn Twinn Deluxe!

Ive been looking for a tandem for a while and I picked this up at the Jefferson car show for a reasonable price.

I am very pleased with it and I cant wait to get with some friends. do you think this would fit on my escort?

It's all there and looks to be in very good condition. I think many tandems were ridden once or twice, then sat for years.

When I put our tandem on the bike carrier, I put it at an angle so one end is a lot higher, that makes it less wide across the road.

LMK if you ever need anything else like I said yesterday. It should fit in the back of your escort. I sold one that my friends mom used to own and he fit 2 stingrays, a typhoon, and 3 bikes, on a rack in the car. :shock: His was a 93 4 door. It was a nice running cheap car. Good luck on the restore when you do decide to do it. Matt

I rode my Schwinn Twinn (campus green also) with my wife and it was a drag. I then grabbed a neighborhood boy, about 12, who was built stout for his age. Put him on the back and we flew! No more rides for wifey, and eventually sold the Twinn. Gary

I can relate! Front rider=Captain, rear rider= stoker, or so it has been explained to me. I had a 69 Twinn w/ a bendix 2-speed, when I would ride with my wife people would point and smile! I thought it was because it was such a good looking bike, come to find out it was because my wife would perch her feet on the top bar and let me do all the work!!! LOL, so on my Twinn, front rider= captain, rear rider= slacker! :lol:

Yeah, I really like the tandem and i have yet to come up with a hauling solution. I hope to take it throughout the state. I think this is the first bike I have ever bought that has new tires on it and is ready to ride :mrgreen: . that was kinda strange to me at first. haha. I wanted to ask you if you have any huffy tandem frames the ones that look like cantilever bikes. thanks again. AWESOME BIKE MAN
one more thing. I found one grip that was like the front set. I dont have a second one though I guess I will keep my eyes peeled for one
