My sister had a stuck seat post like that on a late '70's 5-speed ladies Schwinn. I tried the WD-40 method, the PB Blaster wait-n-see, the Hot and Cold method...finally I took my Dremel and cut a matching slot in front of the seat tube, hoping I could pry it open, remove the post, clamp and braze back together-
-Which is how I found out the former owner had chem-welded it into place with JB Cold Weld.( ) Sooooo...I hacksawed the whole thing off at the bottom of the seat post, fitted another tube and brazed it, brazed on a small reinforcing ring over the joint and no worries to this day.
In short, if a ham-fisted lug like me can do it with inadequate tools, anyone can. Have fun, and show us what you do with it!
