A friend of mine asked me to strip down an old roadbike of hers so she could have the frame set to display in her home. The frame is a handmade, lugged, chromoly Eddy Merckx that was her first roadbike (she now has a Serotta). Shops wanted $50 just to strip it to the frame, so she asked me if I would do it in trade for all the rest of the components except the frame set, pedals and computer...well yeah sure.(or did he say yes sir?)

Anyway now I have a set of Suntour Superbe brakes/levers, shifters, derailluers and crank set (170mm). A pair of 36H, 7 speed freewheel Specialized hubbed/Mavic G40 wheels and Cinelli bar/stem all for the labor effort of stripping the frame down.

Now I can't wait to find a road bike frame to build up for myself.

Who has any experience with the Suntour stuff? From what I can tell it was top of the line in its day (mid 80's?).
