SE Big Style

I couldn’t let this pass. 2015 SE Big Style 29. Been looking a 29” wheel cruiser for a while and this one was very reasonably priced. I ruled it out initially as it was a 6 hour drive each way but a mate organised it to be picked up.

I will probably swap the rear hub for either a nexus 7 or SA 3 speed I aready have. I’m inclined to go the 3 speed as it is a freewheel.

The bike arrived today. It is in really nice condition. The frame looks nicely built and it is definitely the biggest cruiser I have ridden. Swapped a few parts and I will give it a service on the weekend. Hubs are the low point but they seem to spin well.

I’ll be taking it for a decent ride early tomorrow morning before work.

Thanks mate. I’ve already fitted a wtp bmx stem, electra apes, better front brake, diacompe lever, Odyssey triple traps, knurled seat post and a better clamp. Rides great after these changes but may fit some 3 piece cranks and a 3 speed SA drum hub I have stored in garage. I also dropped a tooth on the rear sprocket but its so easy to ride I may have to drop another tooth to a 16.

Early morning shakedown ride. All good other than the squeaky, rattling uncomfortable saddle and short gearing. Its the biggest cruiser I have ridden. Rolls along well and comfortable.

The saddle has been relegated to the parts shelf and I swapped the front chainwheel from the original 40t to a 44t from an Electra parts bike.
